Version (9) Magazine is a journal of contemporary poetry and poetics that celebrates the theoretical.
As a journal of poetry and poetics, Version (9) upholds the intricacies of the craft and subtle art of poesy and the passions that inform and intone this art on the part of the artist. It is a journal that showcases styles and manners that intrigue, compel and captivate in a regard for theory and practice that is current and considerate of the value of aesthetic.
For Version (9), poetry is art and all art, at bottom, is theory made manifest in an intelligent apprehension and interpretation of our sense of the world. Even if ours is a hailed technological age, Version (9) maintains it is passion and feeling that complement our sensibilities of the same. Great poems, today as ever, are works that attest to this very passion and feeling. They resist the trend of apathy.

Andrew once got told: No one writes poetry anymore; no one reads it either. He continues to refuse them.
His apologia for (in)formation–were he to make one–would claim:
Augustine, not Aristotle; Cavalcanti, not Dante; Marlowe, not Shakespeare; Hopkins, not Thomas; Artaud, not Apollinaire; Ryder not Blake; Poictevin, not Huysmans; Pound not Eliot; Jeffers, not Frost.
A lover of pseudonyms, he engages contemporary poetry with zeal, attesting its fervor and kick.
